Is your little Jackson Pollock begging for a paint-splattered birthday celebration? If the idea of making sure 20 paint-covered kids steer clear of your sofa doesn’t inspire you, why don’t you farm this project out to the experts? There are plenty of ultra-creative studios set up to create a birthday party masterpiece that your little artist will never forget. Click through to see what each artsy spot has to offer.

From Jewelry Making to Finger Painting: Destination Art

This studio in Russian Hill embraces the very youngest of artists. Kids get to paint with brushes, fingers and even their feet! Older kids can work with clay, papier mâché and wire. The owner is super flexible and open to ideas, from building a rocket ship to making jewellery. Two hour parties get teacher support, art supplies and full use of the kitchen to keep the cake cool. If you're happy to clean up and don’t need staff on hand to help, the studio can be rented by the hour. Two hour parties run at $345 for 15 kids or $70 per hour for studio rental. Parents' take care of snacks, cake and decorations.
