It doesn’t take much to get our kids wound up. With all that extra energy, all it takes is a little bit of excitement and they’re bouncing off the walls like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. Now there’s a great opportunity to channel some of that bouncy-trouncy energy to benefit kids with special needs. The Jump Sky High for Special Olympics event was started by local native and founder of Sky High Sports, Jerry Raymond. As the father of a special needs child, Jerry recognized that active play was beneficial to all kids, especially those with developmental disabilities. That’s why he organized jump sessions where kids of all backgrounds could enjoy some physical fitness while making a difference in the special needs community.

What is it?
On April 15th at participating Sky High Sports locations, (Santa Clara, Concord, & Sacramento) 100% of the admissions fees will be donated to The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The Torch Run helps raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics athletes on all levels of competition–from local to international. Special Olympics Northern California currently supports nearly 16,000 athletes, and every jump admission on April 15 will go to helping these Olympians strive towards personal accomplishments.

How Long Does it Run?
Starting at 11:00 am and going until 10:00 pm, jumpers of all ages are invited to have some high-flying fun with local Special Olympians and members of local law enforcement. Expect to do lots of jumping, hopping, leaping, and soaring, and maybe even an impromptu game of trampoline dodgeball or two.

What’s the Cost?
Admission for Sky High Sports Santa Clara and Concord are $12 for the first hour and $6 for the second hour.

Sky High Sports Sacramento costs $10 for the first hour and $6 for an additional hour.
