It can be a struggle to get kids to try other cuisines, but places like Mediterranean Kebab make it easy. With large pictures of favorite dishes on the walls, it’s a breeze to point out what will work for your youngster, and Turkish classics like the namesake kebab are usually a hit even with the youngest diners. They have plenty of seating inside, and even offer outdoor seating when the weather is warm. While the atmosphere is no-frills (or few-frills) the staff is kind and helpful, and the yummy Mediterranean delicacies speak for themselves. Order at the register, grab some utensils and drinks, and you’re ready to go. We recommend the lamb and beef gyros, falafel, and Mediterranean combination plate, which includes several different Greek and Turkish favorites and can be shared by two people (if neither is overly hungry.) Kids will like the grilled kebabs and pita bread, and they can forgo the hummus dip if it isn’t to their liking—more for mom and dad! If you like rice pudding, the one offered here is delish, and so is the baklava; we’re betting that even Mediterranean novices won’t turn their noses up at honey-drenched phyllo and walnuts. Mmmm!
