Mills Creek Canyon Park is a wonderful little patch of wilderness nestled in the Burlingame hills. The entire park comprises 28 acres, and is home to native California plant and animal species, including ancient oaks and bays and beautiful wildflowers in spring. The Ed Taylor trail is about two miles, and is a little long for the youngest youngsters, but manageable for ages four and up. From downtown Burlingame take El Camino Real northwest and then take Adeline Road to the entrance to the park. A hike here is an awesome way to bypass the weekend doldrums and get yourself and kids out for a little exercise and nature-lovin’.
