If you’re a class commitment-phobe (or have a kiddo who changes his or her mind every day), consider one of these schools that offer a free trial session, so you can sample the fruit before signing on the dotted line. Click through the gallery to take a peek.

Kindermusik is another international company with locations all over the Bay Area, each one headed by a different teacher. You can either go their main website and type in your zip code, or do an internet search for centers in San Francisco, Marin, and the East Bay. Although, like many other mommy-and-me-type classes, these are primarily about child development and bonding, Kindermusik employs specially trained music teachers and uses research-based methods. Check out this video (from Nanci’s Kindermusik classes in Piedmont) to get a feel for the vibe, then call or visit the website to book a trial class.
