Light and Lovely

Finer baby boutiques and style-savvy moms have known about Rikshaw Designs‘ Indian block-printed crib bedding for some time, but the local company’s got some new tricks up their kurta sleeve for spring.

Now big kids and grown-ups can lounge in the luxury of soft Indian voile cotton handprinted in vibrant colors and patterns, as Rikshaw introduces a bedding collection in bigger sizes (twin and queen). The designs are a fabulous extension of their crib quilts, bedskirts, and bumpers, and the prints coordinate beautifully without being too matchy. Those who want just a splash of the Rikshaw style will love the standbys of burp cloths and bibs, as well as the new addition of baby clothes. The covet-worthy kurtas, bloomers, sun hats, and sleep sacks for wee ones will be the hit of any baby shower.

All of Rikshaw’s bedding and clothing are still in the same wonderfully light cotton, and adorned with the colorful bohemian prints that founder Catherine Fitzsimmons first fell in love with as a textile buyer for Pottery Barn and now incorporates into her own designs. You can pick up the latest styles at Soiree in San Francisco.

P.S. Moms, be on the lookout for the company’s next venture: kurtas in grown-up sizes! What could be more chic for beach?
