If you are looking for a place to hang out with your mama tribe, look no further than San Francisco’s new parenting space: The Open Nest. Brought to you by the brilliant ladies over at Main Street Mamas, The Open Nest is your place to meet other parents, grab a cup of tea and commiserate over sleep struggles and preschool drama. With the closing of SF’s beloved Recess (but stay tuned for their next non-profit venture, Recess Collective), now is the time for parents step up and to support local businesses like this if we want them to stay open for us. Check out all that the space has to offer below!

The Space

Located in the Stonestown Galleria, The Open Nest is located on the second floor near Nordstrom and across from H&M. Your best bet is to park in the Nordstrom lot and take the elevator to the second floor. The Open Nest is on the right-hand side once you exit Nordstrom, before you get to lululemon.

The welcoming and inviting storefront includes a large table for co-working, comfy couches and chairs for gathering and floor space for classes to meet and kids to play. Perhaps most importantly, you can find changing tables and a nursing nook in the back. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and stay for a while!

Community hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-4 p.m. and allow visitors to gather, enjoy the space’s amenities and relax with other parents away from the mall’s hustle and bustle.

The Classes

Perhaps one of the best offerings at The Open Nest are the amazing classes that bring together and support new moms, special needs families and anyone who needs a tribe. Check out the schedule to see what’s being offered.

Upcoming classes include a weekly Mommy & Me group for new moms, a parents-only class on strengthening relationships and a monthly single moms support and empowerment group.

The Membership

Membership to The Open Nest is $60/month (use code: firstmonthon to get your first month at $45). Membership includes access to the changing area and nursing nook during open hours (perfect for a stop off during your next shopping trip), complimentary Saturday morning classes and 10% off all other classes.

You also get access to the co-working space on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon-4 p.m. Coffee and tea are always available during open hours.

The Details

The Open Nest is waiting to welcome all parents with open arms to its west San Francisco location. With similar spaces closing left and right, this is your call to action to support a mom-owned business with a great purpose.
