An utterly unique playground in Berkeley designed for children 7 years and older, but younger kids are welcome as long as they remain within arms reach of an adult.

Junior Center of Art and Science: Jake’s Discovery Garden
Oakland, 10:00 am-3:00 pm
Interactive exhibit for ages 2-5 years, promotes “learning through play.” Kids $2, adults free.

Wee Play in Alameda: Open Play
10:00 am-1:00 pm, $6
Experience Alameda’s play center for infants and toddlers. Program includes arts and crafts, song and music time, developmental and exploratory play.

Fitness and Exercise

Academy of Ballet: Pre-Ballet Classes
10:00-11:00 am, Single Class $14
Pre-Ballet for children ages four to six. Class emphasis is on musicality, creativity, coordination and building a love of dance. The Academy aims to prepare students for the time when he or she is physically and mentally at the age to begin formal training.

San Francisco Gymnastics Tumblebug Program:
Mon-Sat classes for tailored toward Preschool ages (Little Bugs class), ages 3.5-4 (Busy Bees class), ages 4.5-5 (Grasshoppers class) and other age groups.
