San Francisco. It’s been a muse for great writing, film, music and more. While Market Street is bustling with tourists from all over, hopping on the Powell and Hyde Street cable cars, taking pictures and pointing excitedly, we forget what the fuss is about. Well, it’s time to remember why our city by the bay is so special. So, grab your little ones and embark on a city adventure and take pride in all that San Francisco has to offer. To get you started, we have five awesome places that your little explorers will love.
Golden Gate Bridge
Golden Gate Bridge: What better way to explore our iconic Golden Gate than by walking across? Guided tours promise a history lesson for your little ones (free for kids 5 and under). Fort Point boasts a fascinating exhibit dedicated to the bridge, International Orange (named for the color of the bridge), by innovative artists who have re-imagined it in a bold new way. Explore the exhibits featuring a camera obscura view, gorgeous paper dresses, a bugle hanging from a ceiling in low light, and loomed paintings. Then take the stairs to the top of the fort for a view from under the bridge and to the ocean beyond. Next, buy some Let’s Be Frank dogs and have a picnic on Crissy Field as you watch the sail boats and wind surfers whiz by.
