Now that spring has sprung and we have more daylight to play, here are some of our favorite San Francisco streets for a leisurely stroll. These San Francisco spots are the prettiest around to take in the sights and sounds of the city and enjoy with your family. So slow down, smell the roses, and just go for a walk. Once you’re there, these everyday San Francisco moments will be that much more enjoyable that you’ll be humming to yourself, “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day in the neighborhood.”

Mr. Rogers couldn’t have been any more right. Indeed it is.

Japantown

For a feast for the eyes - especially this time of year with the cherry blossoms in full bloom – take a little adventure to San Francisco’s Japantown. Located in SF’s Western Addition area, you and your kiddo will get a glimpse of Japanese culture - all while still in the 415. Meander and enjoy the countless stores full of Japanese wares, as well as all the delightful restaurants and shops. Take a break from all the exploring and rest your feet at the Japantown Peace Plaza, where you’ll marvel at the five-tiered Peace Pagoda. After strolling, be sure to head inside the Japan Center Mall for more indoor exploring.

Good to Know: Japantown’s main thoroughfare is along Post Street, between Fillmore and Laguna. There is ample parking with the nearby parking lots, and also public transportation, since Japantown is also right next to Geary.
