Trying to eat healthy in the new year, but also really want a pizza? (Yes?!) Then you’re going to love Rise Pizzeria, in Burlingame. Owner, Omid Zahedi, along with his wife Susan Payrovi, have teamed up with Chef Justin Nilson to create a health conscious, Neapolitan-inspired, wood-fired pizzeria that will totally steal a pizza your heart!

Rise Pizzeria

Kid Tested. Mother Approved.
See, Rise Pizzeria ingredients are fresh, non-GMO, mostly organic, often locally sourced, and always mom approved. So even when ordering drinks, you’ll notice they do not have a soda fountain (reads: no high fructose corn syrup), and instead offer healthier options like yummy lemonade, organic iced tea and apple juice. They also offer grown-up drinks that include an array of California/Italian focused wines and craft beers on tap.

Family Friendly Restaurant Dream Come True
Between picky eaters, dietary restrictions, and scary allergy concerns, Rise Pizzeria has you covered. Guests are offered gluten-free crust options and even Daiya cheese substitutes for those who prefer dairy-free. A few of our menu favorites include the housemade meatballs and the meat board, as appetizers. The smoked pancetta + brussels sprouts “white pizza”. For “red pizza” we loved the italian sausage + pepperoni + ham + meatball pizza, and the italian ham + fresh pineapple pizza had a nice kick with roasted jalapeños tossed in there. They also offer entree salads, smaller side dishes, and a dessert list that includes organic soft serve ice cream.

Rise Pizzeria offers a casual dining atmosphere, where orders are taken at the counter. Guests can choose to enjoy their meals outside on the large patio (fire pit included), or inside with views of the open kitchen. The open kitchen showcases Foozi and Nonni (named in honor of the proprietor’s mothers), which are the two 5,000 pound custom designed wood-fired ovens. These ovens were handmade by artisan Mario Acunto in Naples, Italy, shipped thousands of miles to Oakland, and then trucked to Burlingame!
