It’s the week before Christmas, but there’s no sign of slowing down around the Bay. In San Francisco, creative families will be making “Artful Greetings” at the Contemporary Jewish Museum and “Capturing the Moment,” at a photography-focused family workshop at SFMOMA. In the East Bay, there’s everything from storytelling based on Indian myths at the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center to a Wacky Winter Wonderland Weekend at Playland in El Cerrito, to Paws and Claus, a meet-and-greet with the big man from the North Pole himself, at the Oakland Zoo. And if you’re in the singing sort of mood, don’t miss the Dream Circle Holiday Concert at the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito.

San Francisco

Holiday Lights & Sights Boat Parade
It’s the oldest and largest holiday lighted boat parade in San Francisco, with over 75 boats festooned with lights and holiday décor brightening the waterfront. Bring the kids for a look-see from the Aquatic Park Waterway, Pier 39, the Marina Green, or Crissy Field Beach. Fri., 6 p.m., free. Event details.

 

Renegade Craft Fair and Holiday Sale
Not only will there be over 200 indie-craft talents selling their wares, there’ll also be free art workshops for crafty kids, presented by the Museum of Craft and Design and FLAX art and design, giving the little ones plenty to do while their parents shop. East Bay

Crèche Festival
This three-day festival celebrates a very special part of the holidays – the beautiful family tradition of the nativity scene. View amazing crèche displays, teach the kids how to make them, and enjoy a performance by the San Francisco Boys Chorus. Peace, Light and Chocolate: Winter Songs

Yalda 2010 Celebration

‘Tis the Season: Global Harmony

Small Wonders Holiday Bazaar
