Leap’s Sandcastle Contest
The theme of this year’s contest is Sandblast, and kids worked with designers and architects to help come up with sandcastle ideas! Watch as the teams build for four hours, and see characters and structures appear right before your eyes. Teams and sponsors raise funds for Leap, which supports arts education in public school classrooms. It is free to come and watch the contest, which should be a blast! Sat., 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Ardenwood Farm Harvest Festival
Everyone gets to work on this working farm! Bring your own bag, and harvest your own corn to take home. Ride a horse-drawn train, watch ice cream being made and sample old-fashioned treats. Rockridge Out & About Street Festival

Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off
Even though this event isn’t technically this weekend (it’s on Monday, October 4) we couldn’t help loving what is considered to be the “Super Bowl of Weigh-Offs!” Watch as farmers and forklifts line the streets with their pride and joy: humongous pumpkins!
