Who likes to play, shop, make friends, and lounge around while tasting delicious beverages and treats? If you raised your hand, then Seesaw is a place for you. This vibrant Hayes Valley gathering place for both parents and kids is the brainchild of husband and wife team, Niels and Sabrina Gabel, Ph.D., who aspired to create a fun and modern hideout that inspires curiosity, creativity, and connection. “Our philosophy emphasizes social learning, resilience and exploring multiple intelligences,” Sabrina says.
Niels is Seesaw’s technology and design consultant, and Sabrina brings experience as a Bay Area public school district child psychologist and private social skills coach. With Seesaw, Niels and Sabrina offer something different and more approachable for families. The 800-square-foot space features a play studio, lounge stocked with toys, books, and games, gift shop, community table, free wifi, outside seating, lock-up stroller parking, and a full café menu.
Guided workshops, the premiere service at Seesaw, revolve around friendship skills, music appreciation and song writing, creative art, American Sign Language, and techie tools, all for kids age 4-10, parents, babies, and tweens alike. Come on over and say hello, and look out for story time and game night, too!
