Flipping through Serena & Lily’s online catalogue, you’ve fallen for their stylish, quality and playful designs. A visit to the company’s new design shop in Presidio Heights will make you smitten all over again. Whether you want to revamp your play room or need ideas for baby’s first nursery, Serena & Lily’s chic new outpost will give you what your Pinterest board can’t—helpful guidance by friendly staff, inspiration, and a ton of paint swatches and textile samples to look at, feel, and take home.

Why Go
When dreaming up your toddler’s new room, a nursery or play room, your Pinterest board or online research can only take you so far. That’s where Serena & Lily’s first West Coast shop comes in—the idea behind their new Presidio Heights locale is to create an almost anti-showroom experience. This means that visitors are encouraged to collaborate with the staff, touch and feel samples, mix and match potential textiles, and walk-in not knowing what exactly they want in their room’s design. While the shop doesn’t yet provide for full-scale interior design consulting, the staff (they welcome walk-ins or meetings by appointment) is so familiar with Serena & Lily’s offerings that they’re more than willing to provide feedback and help guide your decisions.

The Layout
Serena & Lily liken their new shop to a candy store of color and pattern. We agree. Walk in and you’re immediately drawn to the swatch wall that features dozens of stunning textiles. Choose from patterned wall paper to soft linens to colorful duvets. Pull out the panels so you can mix and match on the long work station table and open the drawers under the swatch wall to take home as many samples as you can carry.

Towards the back of the store you’ll see a styled nursery display and a lounge if you want to get comfortable and stay awhile to pore over your design. Coming soon? A back patio that showcases Serena & Lily’s outdoor furniture and decor.

Cool Factor
Above the lounge is a wall of art, curated by Serena Dugan herself. All of the pieces are for sale and the artwork will rotate on a seasonal basis.
