The less-formal, more-fun sister restaurant to Oakland’s acclaimed Doña Tomas, Tacubaya is a feast for the senses. Its colorful red, pink, and mango walls make a great setting for its tasty Mexican dishes, while a seat at the outdoor patio ensures a view of the trains going by, a sight little ones find enchanting. Tacubaya’s delicious delicacies are made with primarily organic and locally-grown ingredients, and have a number of vegetarian options, including the delicious chips and guac (although sadly not their trademark torta al pastor.) Portions don’t run large, but their tacos are perfectly sized to fill smaller bellies.
