We may have gorgeous redwoods and stellar coastline, but living in this coveted place doesn’t come with a cheap price tag. So when Bay Area institutions make it a point to open their doors to all, regardless of income, we can’t help but cheer them on. Read on to discover the new program at the Bay Area Discovery Museum and how they’re helping low-income families access their stellar programs.

What It Is
BADM realizes that everyone should have regular access to high-quality museum programs. So they’ve teamed up with Museums for All, a program of the Association of Children’s Museums and the Institute of Museum and Library Services, to give families of all backgrounds easy access to their museum and to help build a love of learning in the youngest generation.

How It Works
Simply present an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and pay a fee of $1 per person to enter the museum.

Fun Fact
Children’s museums host more than 31 million visitors every single year. With the Museums for All initiative, even more families will get to experience these life-changing institutions.
