With the rainy season is upon us, many new parents are shifting into panic mode, “Does Barnes and Noble still have a train table? How long is story time at Sprouts? How can the Discovery Museum be closed on a Monday?!”
Have no fear, grown-ups, Super Dad Jeremy Williams is here to save the (rainy) day. Well-known in the Marin school district as a coach (swimming, football, baseball), as well as in the parenting community for his uber-popular summer camps, Jeremy is kicking it up a notch with the launch of Play Land on December 5, an awesome indoor play space built for fun and guaranteed to wear out the most high-energy kid in the ‘hood (and tested on Jeremy’s own three-year-old). playland
Designed for kids 0-9 (with different time slots for different age groups), the conveniently located Sausalito space is jam-packed with age-appropriate activities. While the sessions for kiddos 0-6 require caregiver supervision, the afternoon session for 6-9 year olds is drop-off (helloo mani/pedi!).
What to do: Play Land has four unique jumpies, the largest being a 40 by 20 foot inflatable sports arena where kids five and up can play dodgeball, soccer, basketball, and volleyball, as well as have jousting contests! Two jumpies have slides (one is 15 feet long!). Other jumpies have a basketball hoop, climbing wall, and play zone for the younger ones. Besides the jumpies, Play Land has a amazing art room equipped with its very own art teacher, a tumble area filled with toys, trains, more, as well as two awesome air hockey tables. There are engaging, fun, and safe activities for kids of all ages.
When to Go: There are different sessions to attend depending on the age of your child and the times and days of week. See schedule below.
Getting there: 610 Coloma Street in the MLK Gym, Sausalito, Ca. After exiting from 101, drive down Bridgeway and turn right on Coloma Street. 610 Coloma is on the first block on the right. There is also pick-up at schools available upon request should you not be able to drive your kid to the site.
How to dress: Dress for fun! Bring shoes and socks, layers, and extra clothes in case an art project gets messy!
Bonus: Play Land is associated with the City of Sausalito Parks and Recreation Department. Play Land is “green” and uses all bio-degradable balloons and recycles all paper materials.
Cost: Daily Drop-In costs $8 for a registered kid, $10 non-registered. Or you may purchase a 10 Session Pass for $70 registered and $90 non-registered. Drop-off costs $20 for a registered kid, $22 non-registered. Mention Red Tricycle and you can buy one admission and get one free.
