Back-to-school shopping can put a big dent in a parent’s wallet. Between the new kicks, new cuts and multiple boxes of No. 2 pencils, finding quality clothes at bargain prices is a must. Lucky for us, Seattle has some of the hippest consignment stores around. Click through the gallery and get ready to outfit your little trendsetter. This is back-to-school shopping at its green-loving best.
My Three Little Birds
This new-kid-on-the-block opened in West Seattle last year and has combined consignment shopping with classes and an adorable play space.
Consign with them: There’s no limit to how many items you can bring in to My Three Little Birds. The store owner will try to go through your items while you wait, but if time doesn’t permit, you are guaranteed to hear back within a week. You can opt to either receive your money in store credit, which never expires, at 35% of asking price, or 30% of asking price in cash. And fall and winter items are the movers and shakers of the next few months.
Buy from them: Shoppers will find high quality, gently used clothing, for newborns through size 12, in addition to new clothes on the shelves here. Plus a whole bunch of shoes, accessories and toys to round out that back to school trip for babies and preschoolers. And if you’ve ever heard of Doodle Pants or Electrik Kidz Binky Bandanas, then you already know how adorable and popular they are, but what you probably don’t know is that you can find these items (and so much more) at My Three Little Birds. The store also features items from Hooray Haroo, Minnie and Lola, Elegant Baby, Peaceable Kingdom, No Slippy Hair Clippy, and San Diego Hat Company.
What you’ll love: My Three Little Bird’s owner, Jennifer Young, understands that what parents really want is some time to shop sans kiddos. In addition to a fab playroom, Jennifer holds monthly events like Spanish story time and cupcake happy hour. While the minis enjoy play and learning time, you can browse and sift through the deals of the day. An easy way to shop? Yes, please!

Bonus Tip: Lots of these stores (but not all) are currently taking Halloween costumes. So bring in last year’s and use the store credit to make an even bigger dent in this year’s BTS shopping spree. Then come back for some monster deals on a new-to-you costume in October.
