Your sun hats are on, the kids are humming a Not-Its song in the stroller, and you’ve got your canvas bags at the ready: It’s time to hit the farmers market. In between booths selling stone fruits, purple potatoes and fava beans you’ll find local artisans offering handmade edibles and imbibables that are perfect hot afternoons elixirs for you and your little ones. Here’s five local sweet treat and specialty drink purveyors selling at markets around town that you shouldn’t miss this season.

Six Strawberries

Kids may be in love with Will Lemke and Vanessa Resler’s Six Strawberries Ice Pops, but who’s the biggest grown-up Six Strawberries fan? Hometown hero Macklemore, who served the artisan sweet treats at a free surprise performance in Capitol Hill last year. Six Strawberries started selling their signature ice pops at several area farmers markets two years ago, serving wildly popular bars in flavors like Blueberry Lemonade, Rainier Cherry and Super Sour Apple. Kids with lactose sensitivities can bite into that PB+J bar, too since all Six Strawberries products are dairy-free.
