Newsflash: You don’t have to be a family who is vegetarian or vegan to dine out at these restaurants! And, if your kids are anything like ours, they turn up their cute little noses anytime you even consider putting meat on their plate, so essentially, they’re already rockin’ the vegetarian lifestyle. With these kid-friendly vegetarian and vegan restaurants in Seattle, you can embrace your kiddos’ choice to go veggie and enjoy a meal out without that panic stricken look on their face when you accidentally forget to tell the waiter to hold the (insert your favorite meat product here). Plus, taking them to a restaurant that’s dedicated to going veggie may help expose them to some alternative protein choices that you can start to add to you meals at home.

If your family is committed to living the veggie life, and we’re talking about more than just a Meatless Monday every now and again, we’re guessing that at least a few of these restaurants are already on your favorites list and we’re hoping that you’ll find a new spot to try with your kiddos too!

The bottom line… take your family out of the burger and pizza rut the next time you’re going out for dinner! Your body, and your kids, will thank you for it!

Cafe Flora

Order It: The kids’ menu is full of favorites, with a veggie twist. The pizza pita is a big hit, if you’re good with cheese, and it’s available at both lunch and dinner. For the grown-up palate, start with their specials menu which often features yummy seasonal dishes.

Don’t Miss: Their kid-friendly weekend brunch (order the beignets, we insist!) is equally as delicious and no matter when you go, request a seat near the fountain.

Chaco Canyon Organic Cafe

Order It: All day breakfast? Score! Their gluten-free French toast will make you want to throw every loaf of bread outside for the raccoons and when you order if for dinner, it feels like such a guilty pleasure.

Don’t Miss: Be sure to order a smoothie-to-go. It’s a great way to sneak some greens into your kiddos diet after they just scarfed down that French toast.

Don’t Miss: The smoothies and juices are practically a meal of their own. Tip the servers a little extra and they’ll sneak in a big old handful of spinach in your kid’s drink! Wink wink!

Veggie Grill

Order It: The kids’ menu gives them a choice of a few classic items, veggie-style, and comes with a side and dessert, so you really can’t go wrong. We’re partial to the Santa Fe Crispy Chickin’ sandwich… which isn’t chicken, but certainly tastes like it, or, dare we say, better than chicken?

Don’t Miss: The drink bar is awesome — the flavored iced teas and juices are worth a trip to the Veggie Grill alone. Mix ’em up a bit — they encourage it at Veggie Grill!

Hey moms and dads! We know there are dozens of Seattle restaurants that aren’t necessarily all-veggie or vegan, but that still offer a wide selection of choices for those families who are! We chose to focus on places that are exclusively vegetarian or vegan for this article, but would love to hear your other suggestions below! We’d also love to hear from our seasoned vegetarian and vegan families. What do you love to order or enjoy at these spots!
