However you spell it – doughnut or donut – it’s a scrumptious treat that’s hard to resist. Ring-shaped or filled, glazed or powdered – donuts are the original comfort food that can satisfy our morning, afternoon or evening sugar cravings. Craving one now? Flip through the gallery to discover our favorite doughnut shops. (Psst… they’re in alphabetical order because we couldn’t possibly rank them!)

Rodeo Donut

This gourmet donut cafe inside the Ballard and Capitol Hill Cupcake Royale shops is where you will find donut aficionados noshing on deliciously gooey donuts seven days a week. Red Tricycle readers give the donuts two immensely sticky thumbs up and there's a good reason why. Rodeo Donut promises fresh-from-the-fryer "mouth-watering flavor concoctions” from light and fluffy scratch-made brioche dough. Their specialties include maple whiskey bacon rings, peanut butter ‘n’ berry filled donuts and salted caramel apple fritters. Psst! On occasion, you can also find fresh Rodeo Donuts on Sundays at the Cupcake Royale shop in West Seattle.

Good to Know: Get ‘em while they’re hot! Open daily, 7 a.m. until sold out.
