However you spell it – doughnut or donut – it’s a scrumptious treat that’s hard to resist. Ring-shaped or filled, glazed or powdered – donuts are the original comfort food that can satisfy our morning, afternoon or evening sugar cravings. Craving one now? Flip through the gallery to discover our favorite doughnut shops. (Psst… they’re in alphabetical order because we couldn’t possibly rank them!)

Daily Dozen Doughnut Co.

Just a stone’s (or haddock’s) throw from the famous fish flingers, this small donut stall in Pike Place Market has been around since the ‘70s, and is a favorite of locals and tourists alike. Follow the tantalizing aroma of baking doughnuts (you can smell them from blocks away), and you’ll discover Barbara Ezra and her family at work behind their donut making machine - the Donut Robot Mark II. Daily Dozen’s donuts are mini, so go for the baker's dozen. Flavors include the sumptuous maple bacon, sprinkles and powdered sugar. But our favorites are still the hot, crisp, plain doughnuts straight from the Donut Robot Mark II.
