The food! The festivities! The crowds! Sounds like the summer festival season is here. And Seattle’s got plenty of ‘em to keep families entertained from now until your crew heads back to school. Flip through the gallery to see our area faves, with your calendar at the ready.
Olalla Americana Music Fest
Set your sights on this old timey music festival on the Kitsap Peninsula for a change of pace this summer. For the last 25 years, this celebrated, locally-known festival has been called The Olalla Bluegrass Festival. But this year, they’re reinventing themselves, by showcasing a wider range of acoustic musical groups. Expect to hear sweet sounds from the Shelby Earle Band, Vicci Marinez, LeRoy Bell and more, from the comforts of your festival chairs or waterproof picnic blanket (we know you’ve got them at the ready for Zoo Tunes this year!). And when you need to get up and stroll, you’ll find plenty of craft vendors and food booths to check out with your crew. And remember, the berry pie is a thing here. Grab a slice!
Schedule: Aug. 19, 2017 from 11 a.m.–8 p.m.
Don’t Miss: The vendor booths that features folk crafts like quilting, lace making, spinning and wood carving are sure to delight makers and tinkerers of any age. Be sure to check out the artists doing their thing and support their work while you’re there.
