When was the last time you had some unadulterated, non kid-oriented fun? If it’s been too long to remember, it’s time to plan a mom getaway. But where do you go with your gal pals for mom-only R&R? And more importantly, where can you find a destination near you, but worlds away from kids, spouses and anything that could be loosely defined as an obligation? Cedarbrook Lodge—just a hop, skip and a jump from Sea-Tac Airport. The best part? If you get “the call” to come home, you’ll be home before your kiddos can say adiós.

An Unlikely Oasis
Nested on 18 acres of restored natural lush wetlands, Cedarbrook Lodge is not your typical airport hotel. In fact, it’s not even your typical hotel experience. From the moment you walk in you will feel like you have been transported to a discrete hideaway in the Cascade Foothills. From its cathedral ceilings and exposed wood beams to its lush outdoor spaces and peaceful atmosphere, there’s an overwhelming sense to come in, stay and be rejuvenated.

Quintessential Northwest Style
Cedarbrook has a quintessential Northwest style that is reflected in its comfortable and cozy accommodations as well as in its unexpected amenities, contemporary meeting spaces and original art work. The 169 guest rooms and suites are located in the Spruce, Dogwood and Alder buildings (see what they did there?), all within easy walking distance of other Cedarbrook facilities. Each building hosts a common area where you can pick up a book (or two) from their free lending library, grab some chocolatey goodness or Häagen-Dazs ice cream from their free and very generously stocked snack bar or simply kick back and relax in one of their comfy chairs or couches in front of the fireplace.

The rooms and suites each come with their own private balcony (many with views of landscaped lawns and lush cedars), terry-lined robes, a functional desk/work area and wireless internet access (just in case you don’t want to totally unplug from the fam). The suites feature 640-square feet of living/entertainment space and 450-square feet of bedroom space—perfect for all of your mom friends. The suites also come with a working fireplace encased by a full wall of bookshelves that gives each room a warm, home-like feel. And the wide-open living and dining room space – complete with a luxurious, over-sized leather sofa, two sitting chairs and a coffee table – reflect an engaging and functional floor plan.

Extra Perks
In addition to regular rooms and suites, Cedarbrook offers ADA accessible and Fido-friendly rooms as well as a fitness center with state of the art equipment and machines. To make sure you get the best night’s sleep possible (what mom doesn’t want to hear that?), Cedarbrook also offers a custom pillow menu. Choose from seven different types of pillows, including a body pillow perfect for expecting mamas. Psst! If you happen to find the pillow of your dreams at Cedarbrook, you can order one at checkout and the hotel will ship it to your home. Rest assured, you’ll be delighted you did!

Rejuvenate Your Mind, Body and Spirit
In September of 2014, Cedarbrook Lodge completed a $16 million expansion project that added an outdoor hot tub and a third guest room building as well as a brand new, top-notch spa that is the real show-stopper here. Using natural earth-friendly botanicals, herbal fusions and seasonal specialties, the highly skilled spa technicians at this ahh-mazing spa will customize a massage, facial or body wrap to your liking. Some of the treatments on the menu include hydrotherapy scrubs and wraps, five-step facials, jet-stream therapies, pure plant spa packages, detoxifying mud wraps, brookstone massages and even mom-to-be massages. The spa also offers nail services, so if you’ve been putting off that much-needed manicure or pedicure this is the time and the place to indulge.

Farm-to-Table Dining
Another perk of this getaway is the award-winning dining experience you will receive at Copperleaf Restaurant & Bar. Savor year ’round fresh farm-inspired foods prepared from Cedarbrook Lodge’s on-site garden as well as locally sourced foods and an assortment of Northwest microbrews, wines and spirits. Insider Tip: We highly recommend the five-course tasting menu prepared by Executive Chef Mark Bodinet and for dessert, Theo’s Hot Chocolate Pot for Two which comes with homemade cinnamon doughnuts.
