Thanks to our mild year-round weather, Seattle families can find a fun run or walk practically any weekend of the year. But if you’re looking to increase your family’s fun factor this year, consider participating in a costume race. From a leprechaun-inspired 5K to a Seahwaks-themed 12K, get your blood pumping and the fun flowing at these family races where the costumes are the real winners.

Women of Wonder

The streets are safer than ever on a certain Sunday in September when super heroes descend on Seattle! Channel your inner superhero and participate in the Annual Women of Wonder women-only race at Green Lake. The event offers 10K and 5K run/walk options around the lake. Crime fighting crusaders 10 and under can participate in the free PCC Healthy Kids Little Wonders Run. Each Batman and Supergirl will receive a special bib number to wear, a finishers ribbon and a yummy treat provided by PCC Natural Markets. Youth-sized super-hero themed kids’ dash shirts are available for purchase. Psst! Stick around after the race for fun festivities, including wine and mimosas for mamas. Superhero costumes are encouraged.
