Thanks to our mild year-round weather, Seattle families can find a fun run or walk practically any weekend of the year. But if you’re looking to increase your family’s fun factor this year, consider participating in a costume race. From a leprechaun-inspired 5K to a Seahwaks-themed 12K, get your blood pumping and the fun flowing at these family races where the costumes are the real winners.

Jingle Bell Run

Deck your shoes with boughs of holly and head downtown for some holiday cheer. Celebrate the season with a fun, festive event for the entire family and raise money for the Arthritis Foundation and the critical research and programs it provides. The day starts bright and early with a 1K Run with the Elves for Santa’s little helpers age 10 and under. Don your most festive holiday garb or transform into your favorite seasonal character and take part in the pre-race costume contest in Westlake Plaza. Psst! The 5K has timed and untimed waves, for all ability levels. The Santa Striders wave is perfect for walkers and stroller pushers.
