You lucky-ducky Eastside cupcake-coveters have a triple serving of sweet news to savor:

The opening of The Shops at the Bravern brings with it the across-the-lake debut of Trophy Cupcakes . It’s owner Jennifer Shea’s third location (the others are in Wallingford and the U.Village) and seems poised to be a Bellevue bonanza, considering the store’s constant long lines and booming $3-per-cupcake biz. While it’s currently the only place in the Bravern to get a coffee/latte/espresso, there is limited seating so don’t expect to be able to park a stroller inside. Check out the store’s festive selection of party favors, such as Trophy’s three-tier cardboard cupcake stand, party hats and fun birthday cards by Seattle-based Natalie Eden

…Speaking of party favors, the latest in cupcake accessories comes from a laid-off bank employee whose backup career involves fancying up plain cupcakes. Carrie Middlemiss of Newcastle worked at WaMu for 18 years until the bank’s demise last year. A cupcake aficionado, she created Bella Cupcake Couture, fashionable, decorative wrappers that hide the crinkly, translucent wrapper cupcakes are baked in. They come in gorgeous, textile-inspired designs in bright colors and prints. A 12-pack of wrappers is $12. Order online or get them at New York Cupcakes near Crossroads Mall in Bellevue, where you can also find…

…the super-adorable Birthday Bash Box, New York CupcakesNew York Cupcakes Seattle’ latest offering. For $36, you get a dozen, dazzling, candle-topped, individually decorated cupcakes, one of which is flat frosted so a name or birthday greeting can be written on it. (Orders should be placed 48 hours in advance.) Also coming soon to NYC: three-tiered, custom-decorated birthday cakes.
