Explore: Chism Beach Park
One of the best kept secrets in West Bellevue is Chism Beach Park and when the weather is lovely, it’s the ultimate venue for a morning play date. The park sits on Lake Washington, but the parking lot is high above, so use the ramp to bring strollers and beach gear down. Once on the beach, you have your choice of sandcastle building, wading in the water, or playing on the toddler boat play structure, which is right on the beach. (Bigger kids might want to jump off the dock or go fishing.) Lush green landscaping surrounds the beach, and there are nice trails in the woods nearby. A wide open, sloping lawn space (just above the beach area) is just too inviting: expect the littles to want to roll down it! For nearby sustenance, the kids will love the bear-shaped pancake at the throwback diner Chace’s Pancake Corral, just west of Chism Beach at 16th and Bellevue Way. (Tip: best omelet they have is filled with hash browns!) In need of maternity clothes? Head into downtown Bellevue and check out the relatively new A Pea In The Pod, which is right next to Costco World Market at 8th and Bellevue Way.
