With Thanksgiving coming up, closely followed by even more holiday eating, it’s the perfect time to get some preventative exercise in and support several local charities at the same time. If your fam is ready for some turkey trottin’ and reindeer runnin’ this holiday season, read on and get ready to lace up your tennies and participate in these local fun runs.

Magnuson Event Series – Turkey Trot & Holiday Fun Run

Lace up your tennies for two fun holiday races! The Magnuson Event Series offers a 5k, 10k and Kid's Dash each month, all year round. Strollers are allowed, but keep in mind that the course is all-terrain. The event is truly a fun run and not chip timed, but event organizers do record your time and place and post results on their website following the events. There is no official awards ceremony, but you can collect a finisher’s medal at the registration tent (following the event) if you ask.

Good to Know: The 400-meter Kid's Dash begins 15 minutes before the event start time. Parents may run with their kids on the out and back course. Racers ages 2–10 are eligible to participate.

The Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot takes place on November 26, 2015 at 10 a.m. Bring food donations to support Food Lifeline and celebrate your run with pumpkin pie prizes.

The Holiday Fun Run takes place on December 19, 2015 at 10 a.m. Put on your reindeer antlers and candy cane socks and participate in this holiday fun run. Warm up after the race with some delicious drinks from the warm beverage bar including hot chocolate, cider, coffee and more.

Registration Costs: $19/5k; $24/10k; $3/Kid's Dash. Add $10 for day of registration.
