With Thanksgiving coming up, closely followed by even more holiday eating, it’s the perfect time to get some preventative exercise in and support several local charities at the same time. If your fam is ready for some turkey trottin’ and reindeer runnin’ this holiday season, read on and get ready to lace up your tennies and participate in these local fun runs.

K9 Candy Cane 5k Fun Run & Walk

Celebrate the holidays with your favorite four-legged friend! The K9 Candy Cane 5k Fun Run and Walk will be held on December 6, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. at the Renton Community Center. Runners and walkers travel along the paved beautiful Cedar River Trail before looping back to the Community Center. Competitive runners, fun runners, walkers and families (with or without dogs) are all invited to this annual event.

Good to Know: Professional chip timing is provided. Register by Nov. 29 to receive a hooded sweatshirt. Race participants will enjoy random prize giveaways, post-race refreshments, pictures with Santa and a fun holiday atmosphere. Psst! Bring pet food to benefit the Seattle Humane Society for Seattle/King County.

Registration Costs: $28/person until Oct. 31; $35/person from Nov. 1 until online registration closes; $40/person after online registration closes.
