After months of rainy, cloudy weather, Seattle families are taking every chance they can get to soak up the rays. And what better way to celebrate a beautiful sunny day or sunset than with family… and food? To make the most of mealtime outdoors, we’ve compiled a list of restaurants that serve delish dishes with a view to match. Click through the gallery to see our favorites.
The view may be nothing to write home about, but the food at this decidedly kid-friendly chicken shack in Hillman City is top notch. Big Chickie specializes in pollo a la brasa (a Peruvian take on whole roasted chickens cooked over charcoal), plus killer sides ranging from cheesy potatoes with a hint of aji (a spicy sauce common in Peruvian cooking) to kale salad—a whole chicken meal includes two sides, three sauces and four pieces of cornbread ($29.50). Kids will love the chicken empanadas and fried plantains. Grab a seat on the covered patio out front or take your chickie to go and set up a picnic al fresco elsewhere.
