196Yet another area of the house, the kid’s room, has been conquered by good design. With the introduction of DWRjax, Design Within Reach’s new line for kids (introduced last fall), now everything from Baby’s crib to Junior’s playhouse can be sleek and unique.

The DWR Seattle store boasts a number of items from the jax line; the most recent addition being the Red Ball Rocking Horse, an uber-design-y, deconstructed, minimally chic number originally made in the 1950s. It’s simply made of two intersecting sheets of bent ply, with a round birch stick going through them. The stick is topped with a jaunty red ball. Junior will no doubt be happy with Horsey’s rides, blind to the fact that his favorite toy goes perfectly with your mod Eames chairs.

Also check out the modernist diaper bag ($54), the minimalist baby lounger ($110), and a very cool alternative to a Diaper Genie ($239). Items Discontinued
