Don’t be concerned Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt on Queen Annewhen your child’s eyes get as big as saucers when you bring him to Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt for the first time – it’s hard not to stare at the wall of self-serve flavors (a dozen different kinds!) and the huge counter of candies, cookies, fresh fruits and warm toppings like fudge and caramel.

Located on the corner of Queen Anne Avenue North and West Crockett Street, Menchie’s is a hot spot any time of day, in any kind of weather – even though they opened in the middle of winter, Menchie’s is packed to the brim with happy fro-yo fans, even on the coldest of Seattle days. If you’re going for the first time, try to plan your visit during school-hours – it gets particularly busy when the middle school around the corner lets out around 3pm.

We particularly love Menchie’s for a few reasons: You can sample any of the flavors before you buy (perfect for the kid who thinks he wants pineapple frozen yogurt). Also, you pay by weight, so mom and dad get to control how much fro-yo goes in the cup, which is great in a land where size small is the new size large.

Don’t miss the fresh fruit toppings which are truly fresh and delicious – sneak some kiwi or raspberries on top of their chocolate frozen yogurt to help counteract the rainbow sprinkles!

A tip for parents of the littlest frozen yogurt lovers: bring some baby wipes with you to clean up sticky hands when you’re done!
