In a city that’s inspired the likes of tech powerhouses like Amazon and Microsoft, it’s no wonder that so many creative and innovate mom-run businesses call Seattle home too. From indie record producers to soft drink revolutionaries, we’ve got the deets on all things cool from some of Seattle’s most amazing mompreneurs. Click through the gallery to meet these mamas and find out their mommy-knows-best secrets to parenting success.

Rebecca Pelletier

Rebecca Pelletier is the owner/manger of Twirl Café on Queen Anne, and has been since she opened doors back in 2010. She’s also mom to Laura (6), Ally (3) and baby boy due in January. Before number three makes his debut, Pelletier will pass the Twirl torch to new owners, where this play café will re-emerge as Umbrella Tree.

Where she’ll be on a sunny day: Look for Pelletier and her kids at the Woodland Park Zoo when the sun is out. She enjoys getting some exercise, while her little monkeys check out the wildlife. Win-win!

Her must-have mom product: Pelletier can’t get enough of her Oka-B ballet flats. They’re comfy and stylish, won’t break the bank, and clean up easily with soap and water. A mommy-must, indeed!

The best thing about being a Seattle mom: Pelletier is all about taking and making Seattle adventures, rain or shine, because there are so many museums, parks and outdoor spaces to explore with kids. But she also loves that the rain gives her a pardon to stay indoors, get cozy and make hot cocoa with her Littles. In a busy household, an excuse to do nothing is a definite blessing in disguise.
