We know life can get crazy, and cooking a balanced, yummy, kid-friendly meal can be a challenge. That’s why we’re super excited about Munchery. This prepared meal service, which has been hugely popular in San Francisco, just launched its on-demand delivery service in Seattle. Using nothing but the finest ingredients, top local chefs create meals from scratch each day— many of them local, organic and sustainable—for your dinner table. So leave the prep to the pros and enjoy restaurant-quality meals every night of the week.
Who Is Munchery?
Started by two busy dads in San Francisco, Munchery opened in 2010 with the hope of answering that sometimes-tough weeknight question, “What’s for dinner?” Having an easy, healthy option for putting dinner on the table proved to be a winning idea, and getting some big-name investors was not a problem (you’ve probably heard of peeps like Jared Leto, Jon Favreau, and Adrian Grenier).
Munchery is not just about great food; it’s also about responsibility and quality. Ingredients are local, organic and sustainably sourced as much as possible. Their chefs are as talented as they are passionate. Even their delivery drivers are carefully vetted, fully insured and highly trained. Plus, for every order, Munchery provides a meal for someone in need via donations to the local food bank. And of course, the paper and plastic products that come with your food are biodegradable and made from recycled materials.
How It Works
Order for delivery within 20-40 minutes; order for a specific delivery time the same day; or plan ahead and order two or more days in advance (while taking advantage of special early bird discounts). And we all know how quickly plans change when you’ve got kiddos; fret not, as you can easily change delivery times, add or remove items, or cancel completely. Life happens, and Munchery totally gets it!
The menu has an excellent filter for meals tailored to special dietary needs — whether you want vegetarian, organic, nut-free, low-carb, vegan, dairy-free, or wheat-free, they’ve got you covered. However, it’s going to be tough to choose between the Miso Black Cod and the Curried Fava Beans and Paneer.
The menu changes daily, so you’ve got fresh options each weeknight. And yes, there are definitely options for kids, and yes, there are sinfully-delicious desserts. Whew!
The meals are delivered chilled, with detailed, simple instructions on how to heat your meal using your microwave or oven. From the Munchery driver’s hands to your table in minutes — how awesome is that?
As of this writing, Munchery is serving these Seattle zip codes: 98101, 98104, 98121, 98122, 98144, 98154, 98164, 98174. Additional zip codes soon to follow; you can add yours to their Wait List and be notified of updates.
