Once your babe starts walking, he just don’t want to stop! But where can you take him to safely play? Many playgrounds can be intimidating to little ones who are just learning to walk, let alone go down the slide and climb up the stairs to the play structures. That’s why we did the legwork and rounded up eight parks where your toddling tyke can safely explore his or her newfound freedom. From toddler-friendly play sets to wide open spaces, click through the gallery to see our favorite spots to let the Littles play their heart’s out.

Kelsey Creek Farm

Looking for something a little off-the-beaten-path? Visit Kelsey Creek Farm and escape to the country without leaving downtown Bellevue. This working farm is a beautiful, spacious haven for your tyke to explore, learn and play. There are lots of wide open spaces to run and a well-maintained trail that wraps around the entire farm. View the farm animals, including cows, sheep, horses, goats, pigs, chickens and rabbits, out in their pastures every day of the year from 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. The animals are the highlight, but don’t miss the toddler-friendly play structure to get the wiggles out.

Good to Know: Kelsey Creek Farm offers lots of room to roam, but not a lot of shade. Choose an overcast or cool day to explore the grounds, otherwise your excursion might be short-lived.
