Once your babe starts walking, he just don’t want to stop! But where can you take him to safely play? Many playgrounds can be intimidating to little ones who are just learning to walk, let alone go down the slide and climb up the stairs to the play structures. That’s why we did the legwork and rounded up eight parks where your toddling tyke can safely explore his or her newfound freedom. From toddler-friendly play sets to wide open spaces, click through the gallery to see our favorite spots to let the Littles play their heart’s out.

Robinswood Park

Your inquisitive toddler could spend hours at Bellevue’s Robinswood Park without running out of spaces to explore. From expansive grassy fields to wooded trails, Robinswood Park offers a bit of everything. Bring a picnic lunch and plan to spend an afternoon exploring this large park. Climb and explore the toddler-sized playground and bring balls to toss in the big grassy field. End your adventure by taking a walk on the flat trail that circles the pond. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot some of the resident ducks, turtles and other pond critters.

Good to Know: Robinswood is home to several ballfields that are in use almost all the time. Parking is limited during evenings and weekends, so go on a weekday morning and let your little one run wild.
