Once your babe starts walking, he just don’t want to stop! But where can you take him to safely play? Many playgrounds can be intimidating to little ones who are just learning to walk, let alone go down the slide and climb up the stairs to the play structures. That’s why we did the legwork and rounded up eight parks where your toddling tyke can safely explore his or her newfound freedom. From toddler-friendly play sets to wide open spaces, click through the gallery to see our favorite spots to let the Littles play their heart’s out.

Tambark Creek Park

One of Snohomish County’s favorite toddler destinations is Bothell’s Tambark Creek Park. This 40-acre park offers a gated play area for pint-sized parkgoers and lots of walking and biking trails. The trails wind through beautiful woodlands and wetlands, providing some shade and coolness on a sunny day. And the lush landscape offers a safe spot for toddlers to stretch their legs. Psst! If you want to bring Fido along on your family adventure, your pup will surely enjoy the popular off-leash dog area.

Good to Know: Parking is plentiful with two large lots located at the west and east entrances of the park.
