Once your babe starts walking, he just don’t want to stop! But where can you take him to safely play? Many playgrounds can be intimidating to little ones who are just learning to walk, let alone go down the slide and climb up the stairs to the play structures. That’s why we did the legwork and rounded up eight parks where your toddling tyke can safely explore his or her newfound freedom. From toddler-friendly play sets to wide open spaces, click through the gallery to see our favorite spots to let the Littles play their heart’s out.

Tot Lot Park

Commonly referred to as Turtle Park because of the large stone turtle that sits in the middle of the park, Tot Lot is all about the minis. Nestled in downtown Kirkland, this park is designed exclusively for toddlers. The entire park is fully-fenced, flat and equipped for the younger set. It features a small climbing structure, well-stocked sandbox, some ride-on toys, a few swings and a grassy area. Bring lunch or something to grill and enjoy the picnic area and gas BBQs.

Good to Know: The only on-site restroom is a port-a-potty. Come prepared!
