Another weekend. Another reason to get out and explore with the kids. Mother Earth takes center stage around Seattle this weekend with Earth Week StoryWalks, volunteer park clean-ups and a nature hike at a favorite park. Families can also snuggle baby animals, enjoy an at-home concert and work on their nosegrabs, kickflips and ollies. Here’s how!

Earth Week Celebration
Join The Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park at the park for activities designed to promote conservation and celebrate the Earth. The celebration includes great giveaways this Saturday and Sunday, from noon-4 p.m. near the all-access playground (while supplies last). The “Celebrate the Earth” do-it-yourself Walk in the Park will be up through May 2. Enjoy a family hike through the park to learn about the park’s environment and the animals who live here. Fri.-Sun. Indoor Skateboard Session
Get ready to shred at the indoor skate park in Bellevue. Skaters can bring their boards and safety gear for a short session on the Eastside. Registration required. Fri. & Sat. Event details.

Baby Animals and Blooms
It’s spring at Maris Farms. Bring the kids to enjoy the blooms and baby animals at this outdoor event. There will be a farmer’s market, food vendors and each ticket will include the Hilltop play activities, wagon rides, visits with the animals and access to the flower fields. Timed tickets required (kids 3 and under don’t need tickets). Sat. & Sun., April 24-May 9. Event details.

Story and a Stroll
The flowers are calling! Join In rhyming and poetic form, this story shares the marvels of natural cooperation between plants, animals and insects as they all play their part in a complex web of interactions. Best for kids ages 3-5. Ice Cream Cruise
I scream. You scream. We all scream for ice cream. The Seattle Ice Cream Cruise is running with reduced capacity, social distancing and masks required. Enjoy the witty narration, history lesson and scenery. Ice cream treats are available for purchase once you board. Don’t forget to stop by newly re-opened MOHAI when you’re there. Cruises depart hourly between 11 a.m. & 3 p.m. Sun. Event details.

Family Concert: Earth
In celebration of Earth Day, join the Seattle Symphony to explore the relationship between the land and the people who inhabit it. Extend your experience with Earth Day activities and crafts after the concert. Sat. Event details.
