Somehow we’re halfway through August, yet it feels like summer just started.How does that always happen? Luckily, we have lots of fun events going on this weekend to keep your mind off your back-to-school to-do list. On our roundup: a super-fun night for kids (and parents), a street party with lots of entertainment, a family treasure hunt through Freemont, a festival with tons of history, a fancy party for lil’ ladies and gents, and a special class about master builders. Also on tap: PEPSapalooza (pictured) returns with a brand new venue and more rockin’ fun than ever before. Catch performances by Caspar Babypants, The Not-Its!, Recess Monkey and Rolie Polie Guacamole and enjoy tons of family fun in between sets.

Parents Night Out at Pacific Science Center
Do you need a night out on the town sans kids? While you enjoy dinner or a show, your kiddos will enjoy discovering the wonders of water through hands-on demonstrations, a fascinating stage show, and liquid nitrogen ice-cream. Rainier Valley Summer Streets
This free family event will feature some good old-fashioned fun. In addition to being able to walk, bike, roll, run, skip and shop along the city streets (without having to watch for cars), you and the kids can take in a community parade and enjoy food from local restaurants, a bbq cook-off, lawn games, art projects and more. Geocaching Block Party & Film Fest
Join your friends, family and neighbors for a super-fun day of discovery at this fab block party. Activities will include interactive exhibits, vendor booths, geocaching courses, geo tours, food trucks and even a Geocaching International Film Festival. Snoqualmie Railroad Days
This annual festival will feature train and wagon rides, live entertainment, a car show, vendor booths and lots of yummy food. Plus, be sure to catch the grand parade on Saturday and the Children’s Paintout, model train show and LEGO play tables. Dress in your best tea party attire and join the folks at Bellevue Art & Frame and The TOY Place for this special event! Mercer Slough Ranger Program: Animal House
