Summer is in full swing and with it comes plenty of family fun! On our weekend roundup: a super-popular community parade, a summer festival with fab food and entertainment, a mini race for lil’ athletes, a hands-on event with lights, sirens, and diggers, a pool party with holiday magic, and a kickoff event for fitness buffs! If you and your kiddos like to try new foods, be sure to hit the annual Bite of Seattle. This three-day food extravaganza will feature “bites” from more than 50 local restaurants as well as plenty of live entertainment, a Family Fun Zone, chef demos, freebies, and much more!

West Seattle Grand Parade (pictured)
This annual parade has all the bells and whistles of the Torchlight Parade (but without the crowds and parking chaos!). Grab a curbside seat along California Avenue and see clowns, marching bands, drill teams, and plenty of community floats plus those wild and crazy Seafair Pirates and Seafair Clowns! Bon Odori Festival
This annual summer festival (and Seafair tradition!) will feature Japanese music, dress and dancing, fab Japanese food booths, taiko and martial arts performances as well as craft exhibits and demonstrations. Kids Seafair Triathlon
Who says kids can’t tri too? In this mini version triathlon, kiddos can see what it’s like to compete in a triathlon, test their endurance, or simply get their feet wet. Sun., 10:30 am. Seattle. $20 to $30. Registration required. Ages 6 and older. Event details.

Funtastic Friday: Touch a Truck

Christmas in July Pool Party
Dig out your Santa hat and your swim suit and head to Peter Kirk Pool for this holiday themed pool party!
