What do you get when you mix boat building races and a fab neighborhood festival with some fun-loving pirates and a bunch of hot rods? A weekend packed full of family fun. On our lineup: a party along the shores of Lake Union, an annual event for swashbucklers, a signature event in the heart of Wallingford, a family hike through diverse habitats, an activity for lil’ artists, and a show for car enthusiasts. If you’re up for a little ferry ride and a whole lotta fun, head to Jetty Island’s Opening Day Sandblast to enjoy lots of beachcombing, a guided nature walk and fun family activities including a flag ceremony with the Pirates of Puget Sound and a buried pirate’s treasure hunt.

Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival
This old-fashioned, down-home waterfront festival is where everything is fun, almost everything is free, and nothing is fancy. See lots (and lots!) of wooden vessels, take a free boat ride, participate in a scavenger hunt and enjoy food vendors, live music, exhibits, boat building races, and plenty of kids’ activities. Seafair Pirates Landing
Ahoy, mates! Put on your best pirate garb and welcome the Seafair pirates to shore. There will be plenty of merriment for big and little buccaneers including fab food and entertainment, vendor booths, inflatable rides, and a pirate look-a-like contest. Wallingford Family Parade & Festival
This weekend, a family fave (for more than 62 years!) returns to the streets of Wallingford. In addition to marching bands, drill teams, and those crazy Seafair clowns, see lots of kiddies on decorated bikes, scooters and wagons and enjoy tons of family fun at Meridian Playground Park following the parade . Lewis Creek Ranger Hike

Get Crafty Saturdays: Wire Portrait Sculptures
Get your creative juices flowing at this BAM workshop. After getting inspired by the latest exhibit, create your own work of art using wire materials to sculpt a contour drawing-like portrait of yourself or someone else. Sat., 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Return to Renton Car Show
