Only two more weeks till Halloween, so we’re getting the creative juices flowing for this weekends events in Seattle at two great costume-required activities, including a trip to the zoo and a super-fun dance party.  Also on tap: two awesome museums to hit (think fossils and Picasso), a puppet show and a creative hike. In the mood to shop? It’s the bi-annual consignment sale by Crème Brulee Kids at Pickering Barn in Issaquah. Ice Age Archaeology Day at the Burke Museum
Your inner geek can’t help but enjoy sharing with your kiddo this day filled with fossils, stories and excavation activities, all related to what life was like for humans 12,000 years ago.Sat., 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Seattle, $6 to $9.50, Event details.

Little Red Riding Hood at Magnuson Park Theatre
There will be giggles galore when the Little Ones watch this hilarious puppet version of the classic tale, thanks to the folks at Thistle Theatre. Bonus: kids will get to sing and operate puppets, too. Sat.- Sun., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., Seattle, $7 to $9. Event details.

Hike & Seek at Seward Park
Gotta love this clever idea: a hike that’s also a scavenger hunt of interesting nature facts along the way.  Sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation, it’s a 2.4 mile course with lots of interactive stations along the way.  Sat., 9 a.m. to noon, Seattle, $7 to $15. Event details.


Zoo Boo at Point Defiance Zoo
Sometimes the jaunt to Tacoma feels too long. But when you’ve got the super-fun Zoo Boo to hit, the ride there will fly back (not to mention naptime on the way home).  Come in costume for a $2 discount.  Sat., 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tacoma, $7.50 to $13.50. Event details.

Family Festival at Seattle Art Museum
If you haven’t made it to the Picasso exhibit yet, this is the perfect opportunity to make it a family affair, with art-making, kids’ tours, and music (by Recess Monkey and Caspar Babypants).  Sat., 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., $15 for adults; free for kids. Event details.

Baby Boogie (Halloween) Bash The only thing you need to know about this rockin’, Halloween-themed afternoon dance party?
