September is in full swing and so is the fall festival season. This weekend, our line-up of family fun includes a festival with lots of Baklava, a celebration with Oktoberfest flair, a fall sale with bargains galore, a program with history, a super-trendy sample sale, and a family event with lots of goodies. On Saturday, take the kiddos to South Park for a huge fiesta. Fiestas Patrias will feature a traditional parade (think dancing horses and mariachi bands!), a horse show, children’s activities, and a health fair. Or head over to Ballard for the annual Fishermen’s Fall Festival. Watch the oyster slurp contest or the survival suit team races and enjoy the Taste of the Deadliest Catch. If you’re looking for a creepin’ crawlin’ good time on Sunday, take the kiddos to the Burke Museum for Bug Blast (pictured). See bugs that eat plants, plants that eat bugs, or try eating a bug yourself!
