The Fremont Troll

The Norwegian fairy tale Three Billy Goats Gruff inspired Fremont’s life-sized troll sculpture (that’s a real classic VW Beetle in his hand). He appeared beneath the Aurora Bridge on Halloween 1990 and has kept his shiny hubcap eye on things ever since. The troll is meant to be interactive, so climb on him or stick your hand up his nose if you like – he’s great for a photo opp. For more trollology, head over to fremont.com to get a 360 degree view of the troll.

Take Notice: The bug has a California license plate leading some to speculate that the troll's plucking Californian transplants off the bridge for supper.

Social Troll: Like any thoroughly modern troll, the Fremont Troll is on social media. Find him on Facebook and, of course, Twitter. He's so busy, it's a wonder he has time to eat Californians.
