Tiffany Lysene searched for the perfect Ballard storefront to house Mon Petit Shoe, and three months ago, she found it. The 15,000 square foot store that used to be a toy shop now houses cute and affordable finds for babies and toddlers. The tall walls are colors that Little One will want to steal for the playroom — hot pink, bright orange, electric blue, and lime green. There are still a few toys around — puzzles and three-dimensional building kits. The shoes are all irresistible, from Tsubo (just like Mom’s cool runners), Little Laundry, and local fave See Kai Run. But this place is more than just hip shoes. One section features ballerina dresses by Posh, purses, and other role playing options for your girl. Another showcases stuffed pets with their own “glitz kits” from Pawparazzi. Local designer Baby By Britta consigns her adorable hand-knitted sweaters and hats in the store. Other clothing brands include cool graphic t-shirts from Extra Small, girls’ choices from Esprit, and Hurley to outfit your skater boy. Pea Soup supplies handy and pretty hair clips. Gifts aplenty include tights from Baby Legs, Books To Bed selections, which pair popular picture books in a set with pajamas, and dolls and accessories (like couches!) from Groovy Girls. Welcome to the neighborhood, Mon Petit Shoe!
