Summer is in full swing and with it comes plenty of family-friendly activities to keep you and the kiddos busy, busy, busy! Our lineup includes a three-day food extravaganza, a huge summertime parade, a cultural festival with fab entertainment, a nocturnal adventure, a fragrant farm celebration, and an outdoor concert at RTC. If you’ve got a family of strawberry lovers, be sure to hit the Vashon Island Strawberry Festival. In addition to lots of strawberry goodness (think pies, cakes and dipped berries), this three-day festival will be jam-packed with uniquely old-fashioned family fun.
Groupon Bite of Seattle
Bring your appetite and savor “bites” from more than 50 local restaurants. Plus, participate in hands-on activities in the awesome Family Fun Zone and enjoy live entertainment, beer gardens, chef demos and lots of food product samples. West Seattle Grand Parade (pictured)
This annual parade has all the bells and whistles of the Torchlight Parade, but without the crowds and parking chaos. Grab a curbside seat along California Ave. to see clowns, marching bands, drill teams, and plenty of community floats plus those wild and crazy Seafair Pirates and Seafair Clowns. Bon Odori Festival
This annual summertime festival (and Seafair tradition!) will feature Japanese music, dancing and dress, delish food booths, Taiko demonstrations and craft exhibits. Sat., 4 p.m.-10 p.m.; Sun., 3 p.m.–8 p.m. Seattle. Free. All ages. Event details.

Lavender Celebration and Family Fun Days at Dr. Maze’s
This farm-tastic event will include lots of fresh lavender products and plant starts as well as hayrides, mazes, tractor rides, farm animals, rubber ducky races, and tons of farm fun for the little ones. Redmond Town Center Family Concert
We can’t think of a better way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon than with a free concert put on by Ali Marcus.
