This weekend, the Emerald City is going festival bonkers! For starters, we have a popular summertime festival in West Seattle, a parade with tons of kids, and a quirky festival with fish. We also have a festival with a spectacular fireworks show, an evening inspired by Caribbean music and a celebration with tons of kids’ activities. If you’re looking for even more excitement, hit the annual Tanabata Festival at the Seattle Japanese Garden or Kent Cornucopia Days at Lake Meridian Park.

On Saturday, July 9, just as they have for 67 years of July Saturdays, the cars on Wallingford's North 45th Street will disappear and leave the street wide open for kids of all ages to strut their stuff. From the elders at University House to families in bungalows, everyone welcomes summertime with this old fashioned neighborhood party. Originally a rag tag kiddie parade, the event has evolved to include marching bands and drill teams from all over Seattle, the Seafair Clowns and of course, kids in costume, kids in wagons, kids in strollers, kids on unicycles. It's the longest running Seafair Parade and folks come from far and near to soak up some fun in the sun! The Parade begins at 11am Then it weaves it's way through Wallingford; it begins at the corner of Interlake & N 45th, runs East along N 45th Street and ends at Bagley Avenue N. All are welcome!
